STJFC Close Season In Style at Annual Awards Ceremony
Sevenoaks Town Juniors FC ended the 2008/2009 Season in style as they hosted yet another brilliant Annual Awards Ceremony.
The event was attended by over 600 people which is a massive achievement and many thanks to all those who attended the event.
The event boasted a marquee, a DJ, a hog roast, BBQ, inflatable football pitch and speed tunnel.
The Raffle raised over £850 with first prize being a 37 Inch HD Ready TV, second prize being a HD 10MP Video-Camera and third prize was 2 tickets to a Chelsea or Arsenal game was was kindly donated by Access Sports International.
The Event was made extra special with the appearance of our special guest Mickey Hazard and our thanks goes to Mickey.
The Club will really benefit from the money raised and we sold double the amount of tickets we did last year which epitomises the generosity of our members. All proceeds will be go to future projects and of course helping towards funding next year's football.
Finally STJFC introduced the club members to the vision for the future and the clear objectives we have to increase participation and find our own home and certainly the general concensus is that this generated much enthusiasm and excitement.
Once again many thanks to all club members and a more detailed review of the day will be posted on the Awards Do page shortly. For ground updates please visit the New Ground page and to download the Awards Do 2009 Brochure, if you do not have a copy, visit the Documents page.
We hope everyone enjoyed the day and we wish all our club members a relaxing summer break ready for the 09/10 Season. Come on you Oaks!
New Managers and Volunteers Needed for the 2009/10 Season
Sevenoaks Town Juniors is the only local youth football club which holds the elite status of FA Charter Standard Community Club. Our focus is on providing football for all abilities while giving children the chance to learn, develop and above all have fun. So, if you fancy trying your hand at managing a team why not drop me an email paul@stjfc.org.uk or call on 07876 444 274 to discuss further.
At Sevenoaks Town Juniors we have put in place a support team to help cut out some of the admin so you can focus on the coaching and managing. We will arrange your pitch and kick-off time, ensure you have a qualified referee for the game and provide you with your very own team web page so you can keep all your team informed of coming events, training sessions and matches without spending hours on the phone.
We can even provided fully qualified external coaches to take your weekly training session if you desire.
Sevenoaks Town Juniors is a very forward thinking club with big ambitions and aims to provide football to the community. We already run 23 youth teams ranging from U7s to U18s with over 350 children involved with the club and over the next three years we aim to increase the number of teams to 30.
We have also recently run the FA 3 Lions School-Club programme which attracted over 150 children, 6 week Futsal Course and we are soon to start our Saturday morning Skills School. In additions to that we are looking to launch the only girl’s team in Sevenoaks and football courses for children with disabilities but all this needs volunteers that are willing and able to give up some of their spare time. For more information on STJFC’s work in the community go to www.stjfc.org.uk.
We have opportunities at all different levels whether that is Mini-Soccer or 11-a-side, Crowborough League, Tandridge League or even Kent Youth League.
All volunteers will need to complete an FA enhanced CRB check and for any new manager you will need an FA Level 1 or above coaching qualification, which if you require, the club will pay for.
Without new managers coming through the children don’t have a team and can’t play football, so come on give it a go, it really is good fun, very rewarding.
