The club has a clear development plan which it works to at all times. This ensures that the club is always progressing to improve the service it provides. This summer we are running our first ever whole club survey that will help shape the future development plan.
The development plan looks to improve every aspect of the club. Over recent years the club has grown and developed so greatly that many of our old aims have been achieved including increasing participation, setting up a girls team and providing football for disabled children.
However three aspects of our development plan still remain high on our list.
Firstly we want to strengthen links between the junior club and the senior club so that we can start to offer our players opportunities to progress into our senior teams. Now although a large proportion of young adults in this area progress onto further education we want to make sure that those that do not have the chance to play for one of our senior teams. Moreover we are keen that the club stays in contact with players that go on to further education as when they finish their respective courses they are likely to want to play football again. We are also looking into the idea of creating our own academy which would be an alternative to Sixth Form or college education. It would combine education in sport with playing and coaching football.
Secondly we wish to improve the opportunities that we give to our most gifted players to help them progress within the game. This includes improving our methods of identifying these players.
Finally one issue that plagues the club and will prove a significant problem in the coming years is a lack of facilities. We have always predicted that facilities would be the one aspect that limits the club in the long term. The solution is that we must either improve and expand our current facilities or we look to build an entirely new ground. Both solutions require funding from sources such as the Football Foundation or from private investors. To find out more about our facilities project please follow the link below.
